Do I need a Wireless Modem to use this service? NO, This service is provided by a standards based 802.11b/g WiFi network. If you have a wireless or WiFi enabled device and can see the SSID for your location, you can connect and use the service without any additional equipment. Do to the nature of the technology; coverage indoors will vary from location to location or room to room.
What Speeds can I expect from this service? It can vary depending on your signal quality and device being used. Generally we try to provide a minimum of 1.5 Mbps download AND upload. In many cases you will have access to much more speed. Also these speeds are the same for download and upload; the other service providers can't even provide that service.
Will my email work with this service? YES, Get The Speed is providing a High-Speed Wireless connection to the internet. You can use any email service that you already have. If you use Outlook or similar email management program, there is no need to change any outgoing server settings. All are passed thru.
Can I use a MAC on this WiFi network? YES, this network is a standards based 802.11b/g WiFi network.
If I am using the Wireless Modem at my home or office, can I use my account elsewhere in the city where coverage is available? YES, Get The Speed is a fully mobile service. Unlike other service providers, you can use your account at you home or office and anywhere else with a standards based 802.11b/g WiFi enabled device.
If I use a Wireless Modem at my home or office, home many computers can I connect to it? As many as you want. The Wireless Modem is designed to act as a wireless router for your home or office. It also has an ethernet port on the unit so that you can connect it to a desktop or your own internal network. A single account is required to access the internet from the Wireless Modem.
Where is the best place to install the Wireless Modem? As explained in the instructions for the Wireless Modem, you will need to test the unit in multiple locations to find the best area. Typically, the unit will be installed in a window with the provided suction cups. Be sure to check windows in the back of your home or office as well as upper floors if available. The Wireless Modem is design to act as a wireless router within your home or office.
What about security on the network? Get The Speed has taken steps to help secure the WiFi network while still keeping the network accessible. Get The Speed still strongly urges you to make sure that if you are sending sensitive information over the wireless network, that you are using a secure web site or a secure form of email. If you are using a Wireless Modem, your WiFi connection is completely encrypted from your laptop to the internet.

Do I have to sign or agree to a contract term? NO, Get The Speed believe that its valuable services will be enough to keep you as a customer. Other service providers require contracts to keep you from switching services if you are not satisfied with the service.
